Entrepreneur: Crown

by | 6th July 2018

The Crown Chakra comes into play when we feel the urge to simplify an aspect of business that has become unsatisfying or unfulfilling, perhaps with too much focus on material gain. There may be a craving for a more spiritual lifestyle that is more in tune with the core self – a need for ‘being’ rather than simply ‘doing’. Looking at a business from the perspective of the Crown, sees a business becoming an extension of the self, so if the Self searches for meaning, this naturally encourages the need for a business to align with ‘contribution’ and ‘legacy’.

The Crown in business, is thinking of a business as extending beyond the self into the needs of humanity. Does your business fulfill the needs of humanity in some way? Some people have done this by linking their businesses to one of the (17) United Nations Global Sustainability Goals. Some have linked their businesses to charity via B1G1 to incorporate ‘giving’. GeniusU, an online educational platform for entrepreneurs, has initiated a World Game focused on Global Good. Links to all three can be found at the end of this blog, including a FREE test to see which UN Goal you are aligned with.

The Entrepreneurial Edge

Chasing worldly success at the expense of spirituality at some point brings us to ‘Our Edge’. A Crown Chakra dilemma. Entrepreneurs are fighters, they need to be, they shouldn’t give up easily. They battle on overcoming many obstacles, pick themselves up, work on positivity, fight for what they want etc. But there is the danger of pushing forward despite oneself and not knowing when to stop. Stopping is the powerful mechanism of ‘Surrendering’ – ‘handing it over’ when we are DONE.

Entrepreneurs are warriors who’ve overcome many disappointments, they arrive at this edge many times over. The Crown assists in this transition: as we cease the ‘war within’ we release ourself from a stuck and unbalanced state.

“And the time came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ― Anaïs Nin

Mastering Sacred Idleness

Stopping the fight, ending the war, enables one to go within the self. An entrepreneur may interpret stopping as failure or giving up, hence the cycle of pushing on despite oneself at times when one shouldn’t. Surrendering to one’s powerlessness is not a bad thing. Sometimes opposing forces inform us that we are in the wrong direction. Allowing oneself to reach a point of having No Answers is not that one is lost or has nowhere to go. It’s about ‘sitting with the unknown’ in order to get a breakthrough. This happens repeatedly in psychotherapy.

“Work is not always required of a man. There is such a thing as a sacred idleness,
the cultivation of which is now fearfully neglected.” ― George MacDonald

Spiritual Bankruptcy

Some entrepreneurs say that they are not spiritual and aren’t interested in this, perhaps mistaking spiritual for religious. In reality, our life path IS our spiritual path – however the life path unfolds. So if we have a Business, our business is part of our spiritual path.

“Your life is your spiritual path. It’s what’s right in front of you.
You can’t live anyone else’s life. The task is to live yours
& stop trying to copy one you think looks better.” ― Sandy Nathan

Being truly spiritual is not being ‘fluffy’. Neither can it be described in it’s true essence because it is Experiential. It has different meanings to different people – people digest certain things and reject others. Using spiritual language risks alienating people, it is better to let one’s positive vibration flow through the business, the spiritual essence will get absorbed by people who are ‘open’ to it. I’ve observed that Business people who are truly spiritual, let their selflessness and higher consciousness shine through themselves and their business without effort.

“It does not matter how long you are spending on the earth,
how much money you have gathered or how much attention you have received.
It is the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters,” ― Amit Ray

Avoid these 9 Paths to Spiritually Bankruptcy

Path 1.

Path 2.

Path 3.

Path 4.

Path 5.

Path 6.

Path 7.

Path 8.

Path 9.

Working ‘despite oneself’

Thinking one has control over life

Being too fixed on material gain

Thinking what one does is oneself

Neglecting health (mind & body)

Resisting spirituality (god, universe, the unexplainable,  synchronicity, miracles)

Feeling unfulfilled deep down

Being too focused on significance

Being too needy of external validation

Expanding the Crown

The goal of the Crown Chakra is in Expanding Consciousness: Your Consciousness – wherever you are at. There are many levels of consciousness, also called levels of awakening. You will be ‘awake’ at some level, the question is – how awake are you? And how spiritual are you? We can also expand the consciousness of others via our businesses by creating a ‘Business for Good’. Being spiritual doesn’t mean you have to be a certain way:

“You are a Deity in jeans and a t-shirt,
and within you dwells the infinite wisdom of the ages
& the sacred creative force of All that is.” ― Anthon St. Maarten

Synchronicity

Consciousness can expand through life experiences if we let it. To do this we need to bypass our limitations of only seeing things in certain ways, we miss details. The details are the messages to help us get answers to our questions, the arrows that point us in the right direction. Observing this in daily life is working at Crown Chakra level.

Someone posted a Buddhist teaching I had no affinity with so dismissed it, wondering why I bothered to stop and read. Later I noticed a spiritual book I’d neglected. In this moment I remembered the post, which I now saw as a message to find my own teaching (not theirs). so I opened the book to a random page and received an important answer to a question I’d been pondering. Even Einstein worked this way:

“My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit
who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive
with our frail & feeble mind.” ― Albert Einstein

NLP Visualisation: Anti- Entrepreneurial Edge

When you read the passage below, imagine that you are a computer downloading the written information directly into your DNA: as you read it, it is getting downloaded with no effort required whatsoever – read = DONE. Read it slowly, ‘breathe in’ the words, ABSORB the words. Allow your Wise Self to ‘listen in’ as you read, allow your Unconscious Mind to ‘listen in’ as you read. Experience what you read, as you read it. Let’s begin:

“I no longer use sheer will power to get results. When I experience crisis I surrender –
I let my nervous system take care of it, not me.
As a result, I can feel my whole neurological system calming down.
The pressure has gone, the stress has gone. I am free.

Now that I have achieved this calm,
I can see that battling forward is insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
Now that I have stopped, I feel increasingly peaceful and relaxed.
I see that this is an answer in itself: When I stop the pursuit, I am open.

Answers and truths will now come to me in their own time.
I don’t need to worry about grasping these answers and truths,
I’ll catch them as and when they are revealed to me.
I will notice the subtle messages that start to come to me.

From now on, when I feel impatience I will surrender,
knowing that trying to control only gets in the way.
Impatience only arises to point me in the right direction. It is temporary.
In realising this I become clearer, I am focused and at ease with myself.

I am no longer attached to desired outcomes. I am open to what may be.
I have intentions, but if the needs to change for the better good of me, I will listen and be open.
There will be no more war within”.
